A trip to the mountains + A visit home.

It only takes nine hours to drive from St. Louis to the mountains of North Carolina. It only takes six to seven-hundred miles to get home.  I got to visit my twin sister's home in the mountains recently, seeing some of my best friends and family, having a welcome home potluck, remembering the rural life, and escaping to a micah mine in a river quarry.

My favorite photograph from this trip is when my sister grabbed the camera and snapped one of me running. She captured me feeling free and at home.  It reminds me of why I started shooting in the first place: to capture memories and emotions for people to keep.

Andrew + Elizabeth : Asheville, NC

This past July I had the pleasure of road-tripping back to the mountains of North Carolina to photograph the wedding of a pair of friends of mine that I adore.

It's obvious how much Andrew and Elizabeth love each other. I was blessed to be given the opportunity to capture it for them to hold on to.

The rest of their sneak-peak is under "Event Galleries."

KINFOLK + Twin Cities Flower Pot-luck

In April I took a trip from the River City to the Twin Cities to photograph a KINFOLK Magazine flower pot-luck, full of bouquets, delicious eats, beautiful women, and full hearts and smiles. What a treat it was to work with so many talented people to bring a weekend of floriography together.

So many people helped to make the weekend possible. I want to thank the generous Mille girls for hosting the party, Hannah Ferrara for planning the whole event (seriously this girl is a blessing), Ann Nelson for teaching us how to sculpt with botanicals, Malcolm Smitely for helping plan the perfect menu, Madelynn Hackwith for doing everything, The Foundry Home Goods for all the beautiful gifts, and Caylon Hackwith for preparing and serving the incredible food and cocktails! Wow. What a team.

Also big thank-yous to: Askov Finlayson, Fringe and Fettle, The Lynn on Bryant, Martha W McQuade, Marvin Freitas, Nadia Haddad, Nick Lundeen, Northern Waters Smokehaus, Red Stag Supperclub, Sarah Hrudka, Spruce, and Studio Choo.

The rest of the images can be seen in my "Event Galleries." Thanks so much, Kinfolk for the beautiful, flower-filled weekend.  It was a blessing to document it.
