Hackwith Design House + Winter Lookbook

A couple weeks ago I had the pleasure of shooting for Hackwith Design House, designer - Lisa Hackwith. HDH, from Minneapolis, creates clothing that is rare, special, handpicked and hand-perfected.

I fell in love with each piece during the catalog shoot, and keep reaching for her pieces everyday in the closet.

For the Winter Lookbook, Lisa and I wanted to show an example of someone out-on-the-town in Hackwith clothing. We shot a morning stroll, working at a coffee shop, walking the dogs, and finding a new novel in a bookstore.

The clothing from the Lookbook is coming to HDH in winter 2013 to early 2014.  You can follow HDH, which posts a new piece in the shop every Monday, at www.hackwithdesignhouse.com and Instagram: hackwithdesign .

Mid West Orchards + Mountain Apples

In my heart, it is fall. I'm ready for sweaters, scarves, wool socks, leaves and hot coffee, yet the weather in the Mid West continues to pretend it's summer. It's autumn in the mountains and apples on knobby trees have been ready for harvest for months. It's just now apple time in Missouri, and I rushed out to the orchards this past weekend for a peck of apples.

Here are some photos of my twin, Kimberly Inez, and Ethan picking mountain apples from my latest trip to NC.

Farewell Summer + Welcoming a Chill

In St. Louis, the last weeks of summer have been incredibly hot, humid, and almost dehydrating. To welcome the chilly weather, I thought I'd have a final summer shoot. There is no better way than with popsicles.

It was a messy shoot and I had to watch 30 popsicles melt with no one to enjoy them, but I did save a couple and I really enjoy how the photos turned out. Here are some of my favorites.  >> Now, welcome autumn.
